BACKSTORY
When Adder and Boa were younger, he was a fairly normal kit with dreams to become the strongest warrior, maybe even leader someday. He naturally became the leader out of the two of them, and learned how to manipulate his brother into doing smaller things, like side with him, or agreeing with his thoughts. As he grew and became an apprentice, he trained his hardest and quickly became one of the stronger apprentices in the clan. He pitied the weak, and slowly started seeing those weaker than him as weights dragging down the clan. He appreciated Crypticclans mindset of ‘only the strong survive’, and thought that maybe Winterclan should start thinking this way. As time went on, he started naturally keeping tabs of those who were keeping up in the clan, and those who were weaker and falling behind. But it wasn’t until a rogue attack in their territory when Adderpaw's views had completely changed. During the attack, he watched one of the stronger warriors in the clan die, just to save one of the apprentices that Adder had categorized as weak. The cat's death was so pointless to him. Why die saving the weak, who was sure to die anyways? That’s when Adderpaw got an idea; those who he categorized as “worthless” or “powerless”, he would pick off now before the lesson had to painfully be learned again later. He wanted to get to work as soon as possible, but he knew he couldn't act alone. If his brother had been different, maybe he would have asked him to help directly, but he knew his brother would never join him. So time went on, Adder wishing he could do something with all the worthless lives in the clan. He met more cats over the course of a few gatherings (mostly cats from Crypticclan), and started to gain an insight on the more powerful cats in each clan. But then he met a certain cat in Crypticclan who had the ability to hypnotize cats. He knew just what to do. Adder mimicked that power, and changed his brother to never see the wrong in his methods, and to blindly follow him and his ways. Adder felt guilty doing this, but decided it was ultimately for the good of his brother and the clan. That’s when apprentices started going “missing”, or dying tragically to larger animals. It was a little twisted, but Adder only saw it as “work that needed to be done”, and a part of him was glad that it was his brother who was helping him with such a glorious cause. Now, he no longer had to see his brother as one of the weaker cats, especially since he has such a powerful ability, one that Adder now fully possesses.
